Cascade Beagle Rescue’s Board of Directors is a working board. All of our board members play a key role in making our organization function. All of our board members have fostered, adopted, and worked at events over the years. We are pleased to present our current members.
Although Denise grew up in California (Santa Monica and later, St. Helena), she is an Oregon native. She has always loved animals and had many pets in her life ranging from reptiles to birds but dogs always held top billing. Denise’s work in rescue began with Giani, a very abused beagle, who she adopted when she was 7 months old. Please take a moment to read her story here: Giani’s Story. It is because of this dog that Cascade Beagle Rescue exists. In starting her work in rescue she quickly realized there was no standardization; no organizations in place to specifically help rescue organizations grow, develop and succeed, so she founded the Animal Rescue Association of America.

Stephanie has had Beagles since 1984 – 9 to be exact. She and her husband, Gary, have two beagles, Mojo and Bugsy. Steph is very active in the sport of Dog Agility and has numerous titles at the Masters level. Steph, Gary and Denise started Cascade Beagle Rescue in March of 2005. She is now retired but is still active in rescue and agility. She is a stickler for details and has kept our storage unit organized to a fault. She processes our adoption applications, enters every dog and their records into our database and does our banking.
Gary is both a Beagle and Jeep fanatic. He is known as the “Sherpa” as he has hauled many a beagle for Cascade Beagle Rescue and for his wife, Stephanie’s, agility events. He has been instrumental in helping our rescue organization raise money and to keep us organized. He is a very skilled drafter with a freehand font that is beautiful. Gary, Steph and Denise formed Cascade Beagle Rescue way back in 2005!
Lowell is a native Oregonian who joined the CBR team in 2007 as our web developer. In 2010, Lowell took on the daunting task of organizing ”Beagle Palooza”, our annual fundraiser event. Additionally he has fostered beagles in need. In fact, Porsche, Joey and Bhel, 3 CBR Alum beagles, found their forever homes with Lowell & Nik. The undying dedication to our organization was instrumental in the election of Lowell to the Board of Directors in 2010 and he is now serving his second term.
