Meet Maggie's Puppies

Sugar, spice and all things nice, that’s what Maggie's Puppies are made of!

CBR-East is very proud to present our FIRST brood of puppies!!
Little did we know when we pulled Maggie (the mommy) into our rescue from a Kentucky shelter that she was one VERY pregnant little girl.

We have been extraordinarily lucky since this is our first venture into the world of newborns but here they are - ELEVEN healthy and happy Beagle MIX pups.

Born on 4/21/09 these babies are all uniquely beautiful and as you can see they are beagle mixes.  What we do know is that they each are full of life and some are constant tail waggers!  As each day passes we see more and more of their personalities shaping and it’s fun to see how they differ from one another – not just in appearance but in temperament too.

Since Maggie is a hound mix we are not looking only for beagle lovers – we’re opening our adoption process to those who have dog experience and who are willing to take on the responsibility of owning a puppy. Applicants will be thoroughly screened and pre-approved and later matched with a puppy based on male/female preferences.  (There are 6 boys and 5 girls.) We cannot say how large the puppies will grow yet but we’re guessing that they will be larger than a standard beagle since Mommy is…

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MAGGIE'S PUPPIES!!

WHAT BEAUTIFUL DOGS YOU HAVE ALL GROWN TO BE!!

     BELLE
4 days old 4.5 weeks old
ADOPTED!
Hi! I'm Belle. I am the girly-girl of the bunch and I am also the smallest of Maggie's
puppies. I am quite petite and when everyone else is diving and swimming through their
food, I am neatly munching away. I love tummy rubs and romping in the sun - I'm spoiled
already (and I love it!).

Oh! My foster mom told me to make sure and mention this: Apparently I am "delicate"
whatever that means so I can only go to someone who is dog-experienced and understands
how important it will be to make sure that I go to a home where little kids can't
accidentally hurt me. I had my first round of shots, I've been de-wormed (yucky) and I
already have a microchip for my own safety - I really am just the cutest thing (and
humble too!) If you are interested in making a great home for me, please don't wait -
I'm ready to be your special one and only!

     CHARLIE
4 days old 4.5 weeks old
ADOPTED!
You’re a good man, Charlie Brown!
Definitely NOT a blockhead, this dog is adorable, sweet, and loves to give kisses.
Charlie says it best - I’m one of the small, dark and handsome puppies in the group and I’m a medium energy, wash and wear kinda guy.
I’m not great at catching a football yet but I do like toys and I also like to curl up with my siblings for a nap in the sun.
I’m ready for adoption and I’m looking for a home where I’ll get the attention I deserve.
PS – Psychiatrists named Lucy need not apply!
Up to date on shots, microchipped for his safety and ready for his furr-ever home!

     LINUS
4 days old 4.5 weeks old
ADOPTED!
Was that the Great Pumpkin I heard???
Linus is without doubt, one of the livelier in this bunch.
He has the most adorable ears – we think he looks like he could fly!  We dunno where they came from but my gosh they’re adorable.
Fond of his blankie, this sweet, small boy is truly a character.  He’s fast as lightning and can chew through a box of tissues in no time flat so he will need to go to a home that is face paced to keep up with his antics.
We learned that Linus doesn’t love being crated alone but that’s probably just coz he loves to play-play-play.
Up to date on shots, microchipped for his safety and ready for his furr-ever home

     LUCY
4 days old 4.5 weeks old
ADOPTED!
The doctor is in!
This black haired beauty puts the “S” in spice.  Lucy is her foster mom's personal favorite because she is just a little pistol!
Definitely a tom boy, Lucy is one tough cookie.  She plays hard and sleeps hard.  In fact, she’ll fall asleep if you give her belly rubs and she sleeps in the oddest positions – we’ve seen her on her back with a pile of her siblings on top of her (wish I slept that soundly) and she has a personality that is well….fresh!  She likes her toys and she likes romping in the grass too. She is up to date on her shots, microchipped and waiting for that special someone to love her..  We hate to see her go but we know she’ll make someone super happy with her sweet personality and silly antics.
Blockheads need not apply.

     MARCIE
4 days old 4.5 weeks old
ADOPTED!
Excuse me sir, but could I please tell you a little about myself?  My name is Marcie and my best friend in the whole world is Peppermint Patty.  She’s a little bossy but she means well and I don’t mind following direction – in fact, my foster mom says I’m pretty smart.  I know where my food comes from, I run for the water bowl and I know that when the door is opened it means I get outside time which I love.
Happy to curl up in your lap or just sit and watch everything around me, I'd be great if you are looking for a sidekick with soft fur and pretty eyes.

     PIGPEN
4 days old 4.5 weeks old
ADOPTED!
This is the most beagle-y lookin guy in the bunch and we just adore him.  True to his name, Pigpen is quite the messy boy – he loves tearing up paper, and he is so cute he is just a natural favorite. One of the smaller beagles, Piggie is one of the few tricolor pups in Maggie's litter.
Up to date on shots, microchipped and ready for his furrever home, Pigpen is a little ball of energy and fun to watch!  You'll need to be equipped to handle this little guy with all his impish ways.

     PEPPERMINT PATTY
4 days old 4.5 weeks old
ADOPTED!
The second to learn how to scale the playpen for a great escape, Patty is adorable. She is uniquely the color of warm honey and she has a sweet disposition.  She’ll play with the boys and girls equally and she’s one of the larger of Maggie's girls.  Patty is a medium energy pup but don’t let her fool you – she can climb a step or two if you aren’t paying attention and we think that given the chance, she’d spend the day running in the yard with our “big” dogs.  Patty is good with all the other dogs in the house and likes to nap in the sunny spot.  She’s up to date on shots and would love to meet her “Marcie” – someone who will love her forever.

     SALLY
4 days old 4.5 weeks old
ADOPTED!
The ABC’s of S_A_L_L_Y
A is for adorable
B is for beagle mix
C is for cuddly
That’s me – Sally!  Like my brother Linus I love my blankie and I also like playing with the toys that are in my playpen – especially the ones that make squeak noises.
I’m independent and I like to wrestle with Schroeder – I can eat my dinner in no time flat and I fall asleep almost anywhere.  It’s pretty easy to see why everyone likes me – I’m cute as can be! I would do best in a lively home and let me tell ya, I’m fast as lightning so if you want a pup that’s F-U-N ask for me.  I’ll be ready for my new home!

    SCHROEDER - ADOPTED!
4 days old 4.5 weeks old
ADOPTED!

Click here to see a video of Schroeder.

This handsome boy is Schroeder who is the last available of Maggie's puppies.

Schroeder  has been with our group since birth and he is really a wonderful little dog. Schroeder  is slated to attend his first adoption event and we know he’ll be a hit.  He loves kids and provides them with plenty of kisses and tail wags.  When around other dogs Schroeder can be a little timid if they are aggressive but he has made fast friends with all of the foster dogs he’s met.  As the first of 11 puppies Schroeder has proven to be the one that was picked on by all of his siblings – that might account for his timidity but he joins right in with dogs that are playful vs. overbearing.  Cats would be questionable only because we don't really have a history to go by.

Schroeder loves toys and can spend all day playing with them. He's not too small, not too big, but just right! He's got a gorgeous fawn colored coat, brown eyes and plenty of wrinkles! Schroeder would be a wonderful companion for anyone looking for a true friend. He is used to using the doggie door and circles to signal that he has to go out for potty breaks.  Schroeder is not a barker but does tend to be wiggly when you want to hold him for a long time (although on his own he’ll hop into my lap and snooze).  We think that some basic obedience training and bonding will go a long way toward helping Schroeder overcome his timid streak.  By the way, he is quite the little chow hound so whomever adopts him will need to make sure he isn’t overfed.  Up to date on shots, neutered and ready for his furr-ever home, Schroeder is waiting for someone who is looking for a well rounded buddy to walk/play and maybe even hike with – he loves the outdoors and is definitely worth a second look.

     SNOOPY - ADOPTED!!
4 days old 4.5 weeks old
ADOPTED!
Mooooooove over!
This little guy is Snoopy!  Definitely not a World War II flying ace – more like a couch potato with furr, this pooch is so cute it’s illegal. At birth, Spike and Snoopy had pink noses and looked like little heifers – butterballs of fur and so cute we immediately tagged them with the nickname.  These two are a mystery to us – we don’t know what kind of terrier they are but we do know that they both hold special places in our hearts. These little boys are without doubt the best behaved of the bunch and they are super snuggly.  They have the most adorable expressions and we just love them.  If you are looking for a pup that is gentle, sweet and cuddly, consider Spike or Snoopy – both are up to date on shots, they have their microchips, they have received preliminary vet work (de-worming, etc) and are ready to find a home for themselves. We know we’ll miss them both because they really are wonderful but we’re confident the right home is out there for Spike or Snoopy.  Could it be yours?
